MUD is an ongoing collaboration between Arnaud Lajeunie and Georgia Pendlebury. For five years they have photographed girls cast online from all over Europe. The girls are strangers to one another. Lajeunie and Pendlebury seek to study the behaviour between them as their relationships develop within this artificially created situation. The first four volumes from this evolving body of work are now published by Art Paper Editions. The fifth volume is due to be shot later this year.

Arnaud Lajeunie is a photographer based in Paris. Lajeunie first came to photography after completing a masters in political science at Sciences Po Paris. Soon after, his images of landscapes and site-responsive installations earned him a spot as a finalist at the Hyères 29th Festival of Photography in 2014. At the same time, Lajeunie was developing a fashion and portraiture practice which explores unrestrained human behaviours within recognisable and well-conceived frames. There is a tension in his photographs, walking the line between carefully executed craft and pure spontaneity. It’s this elusive taste of something almost surreal that makes Lajeunie’s work so unique. His clients, including Chanel, Loewe, Hermès, Versace, Knwls, Dior and Y/Project, agree. Lajeunie was featured in the Dazed 100 in 2018 and is a regular contributor to publications including M le Monde, POP, Arena Homme Plus, D Reppublica, The New York Times and Vogue Italia.
